No, it is not necessary for you to be included in the photos. I realize not everyone likes being photographed (me included), but since you are going to be there with your pet, I encourage you to be in at least one photograph. The worst that can happen is that you don't like it, and that is alright, then you never need to see that photo again. But on the flip side, you may fall in love with a photo that illustrates your pet/human bond perfectly.
Honestly, it doesn't matter how squirmy or energetic your pet might be, I am confident that I will be able to capture your pet at his/or her best. The reality is that I only need a moment to capture the pawfect moment of even the most energetic pet. Remember that your session is to capture your pet's personality and if he or she is squirmy and energetic at home it is important we capture that same quirky personality during the session. Also, when your pet starts getting tired or anxious, we will take a break away from all the posing and let him relax and be a dog for as long as it takes.
I do not have a studio. I love photographing my sessions in a natural outdoor setting. When we meet at your in-home consultation, we will discuss places for the session. We can have the session at your home where your pet is more comfortable or your pet's favorite park.
It is hard to tie down an exact length of time. All pets and their needs are different. Your pet might take longer to adjust to me and the surroundings or need a break during the session which would extend the session. A normal session would be no longer than 90 minutes. That is about the time most pets say enough is enough. Then your pet might cooperate in a quick fashion and the session may last less than 60 minutes.
Definitely, bring your furry friend! During our initial consultation, I will supply you with a summary of what you and your pet can expect on the big day, together with a list of a few items you can bring to the session that will help you and your pet have a fun day! Don't worry, I am positive you already have everything in your home that you will need.
I know that you may see photos of only dogs on my website, but I love and will photograph any pet that you love and is a big part of your world. Cats, horses, snakes, hamsters, iguanas, if there is a pet that encompasses your world, then he or she should be captured in a piece of heirloom artwork for your home to be enjoyed for a lifetime!
Yes, most definitely, you dog may stay on his/her leash. Keeping the pet's leash on not only keeps him/her safe but also allows me to have your pet in just the right place to capture the pawfect moments. Most of the dogs I photograph are wearing their leash and I am able to remove the leash during my ediiting process.
